bump. what goods bragging rights if you hosers are all too humble to brag about it?? lol!
i wondered. pretty sure i k ow who the DQ chain was...The problem is, the fella that won don’t ever get around to this site.
Congratulations to the winner Nate Blakeslee, he was letter K and turned in an average 1.6 sec cut time.
I learned that although every chain was different, many of them cut well! This wood liked lower rakers, I’ll take that into account in the future.Bigger question from this chain race:
What did Ethan learn about styles of chain on certain wood? I know I learned something.
And:
How many beers were consumed in the process of making video?
I would consider the rakers on my chain fairly high.I learned that although every chain was different, many of them cut well! This wood liked lower rakers, I’ll take that into account in the future.
A chain with no chassis work won, crazy isn’t it?!

The Carlton chain I sent came off the same square grinder with lower rakers. So how much sense does that make?
I do have an idea why my 3 cube chain was faster though.
More voodoo?[emoji23]
DQ has pretty low rakers, it seemed like the lower the rakers the better, except in Deets’ case, not sure why.I didn't touch the rakers on either loop.
The way the saw was loaded up more on the DQ chain, maybe I should have lowered a little.
The wood is important...I learned that although every chain was different, many of them cut well! This wood liked lower rakers, I’ll take that into account in the future.
