I am hosting a chain build off, anyone is welcome.

Chains will be 60dl 3/8 .050 ran on a woods ported 6100, in aspen (subject to change, will confirm tomorrow). Wood will be an 8x8, there are no rules, just send a chain and see how you do! Saw will be ran by a third party, who is not entering a chain, so there will be no bias. All for fun!

3 cuts will be timed, slowest removed, remaining 2 will be averaged.

I must have the chains by April 23, they will be tested the 24th.

7 pin is all I have for small spline, .050 is perfect.

Will the guys who send chains get them back?

    Anything for winning?

6100 done for torque or speed? Some guys may want to tailor a chain depending on that. I assume this is the Egan ported 6100?

Single cuts or double cuts and average the two?

Any thoughts on how to prorate the cuts depending on how the wood density may change as you go through the log?

I mean there is always that...always good to get something too. Loop of stock chain or something would be cool.

If you’d like your chain back, send $8 with the chain and I’ll get it back to you. For the winner, I’ll toss in a stock loop of EXL, and maybe a vallorbe file or something.

Yes to the Egan built 6100. Little bit of both, I can post a video so guys have something to go off of. Tuned a hair leaner than the limiter (13.8) but can pull a 24 in hardwood, so take that how you will!

So far, nobody has contacted me about entering, I asked for chains by the 23rd, that was I have a day to get them a designated letter or number to keep things unbiased.

If that’s preferred, then sure. I’m about to make a video real quick, just to give perspective

If it’s an Eagan ported 6100, then I’d venture to say an 8 pin is preferred. Lol

need to run the same rim for all the saws or it isn't a valid chain competition, just sayin...
