I am hosting a chain build off, anyone is welcome.

Chains will be 60dl 3/8 .050 ran on a woods ported 6100, in aspen (subject to change, will confirm tomorrow). Wood will be an 8x8, there are no rules, just send a chain and see how you do! Saw will be ran by a third party, who is not entering a chain, so there will be no bias. All for fun!

3 cuts will be timed, slowest removed, remaining 2 will be averaged.

I must have the chains by April 23, they will be tested the 24th.

Will the guys who send chains get them back?

Anything for winning?

6100 done for torque or speed? Some guys may want to tailor a chain depending on that. I assume this is the Egan ported 6100?

Single cuts or double cuts and average the two?

Any thoughts on how to prorate the cuts depending on how the wood density may change as you go through the log?

If you’d like your chain back, send $8 with the chain and I’ll get it back to you. For the winner, I’ll toss in a stock loop of EXL, and maybe a vallorbe file or something.
