Has anyone had any issues with these pistons? I ran into a couple with the ring land and pin.

The ring land was tight directly above the skirt edge of each window. I had to carefully scrape the bottom edge of the ring land to the correct size.

Next, when I went to assemble it there was excessive ring drag. Turns out the monkey who put the ring pin in let his drift wander and knarfed the ring land and peened the pin down. The damage is holding the ring open slightly.

I heard of this ring groove tightness before with other wiseco pistons from Dominant saw, and their dirt bike pistons. It is an easy fix with a ignition points file, as its thin enough to fit into 1mm ring groove and remove a very small amount of material

I haven't put mine in service yet, but the ring on mine fits well in the land. My also has something funky going on with the ring locating pin and the ring won't set flush around it.

Dave although it sucks it didn't work out for the first go but I'm glad you're stepping up to the plate to make it right that is Sooper assume that you are doing this. Now they should know what they need to do to make them work.

Personally I would like to see the continued use of 1.2 mm rings. I'm not a big fan of the 1mm myself, just my personal opinion. Dave sounds like a great guy to deal with
Yeah me too I definitely prefer the 1.2mm for a good seel and longer life of the ring now I can understand if you were just building a race saw then I can understand for the thinner 1mm ring.

1 1.2 1.5 not much difference unless you need tenths.
Dykes rings are my favorite but you need a two piece top end to have the plating right at the top. They are single 1.5L

Actually I'd prefer a cast iron 1mm ring, when i stated that i dont like the 1mm ring it's mainly due to the fact that the wiseco one is chrome faced

You would think a company like Wiseco would know beforehand and wouldn't let that out the door. They are a big name in the game... I guess as long as they make it right it will be forgotten.
