When you bevel the port only bevel the openings that go across not up and down. Leave the up down straight so the ring does not jump into the port.

After the latest round of grinding I picked up respectable power...but no rip'ums. I think this jug is plain not capable of moving the air through it to spin even stock rpms. It makes decent power and runs that 18" .325 just fine.

I think I am done with this science experiment in this phase. On to the OEM 44mm jug.

Time. Free time is hard to come by. I am going to have to sideline this for a week or so as I have to get some other things handled. At this point I will keep it all together as it is hard to loose parts on an assembled saw.

As of right now. I have a Meteor 44mm slug to go in that jug.

It doesn’t look too bad to me. Make sure you chamfer the bridge area that got grooved and that one transfer that got chewed up.

Really hard to tell from pics, but everything above the exhaust roof looks good. The dented chamber won’t hurt you.

Having a groove won’t hurt it a bit, it’s no different than grinding in finger ports.

As long as the edges are not "proud" and the plating over the Ex roof is OK, you are still good.

Fully aware what the intended meaning of proud was. I figured most of the Nikasil that survived to be a proud survivor of the great crank explosion of '15.
