HELP! Can I install the head from an Echo CS4910 on my CS490?

I have an Echo CS490 in great shape. I'd like to gain the starting help from the decompression valve that the CS4910 has. Is the newer head a direct substitute for the earlier one? Thanks, Ed

It should all go together. 490, 4910 and 501 interchange

490 piston is a bit more restrictive with slightly different timing. If you have the 4910 piston use it.

Just to put a bug in your ear, the 490 is the economy version of the CS-500P that I have. Kris at S&S Worksaws did a fantastic port and muffler mod job on mine so you might want to hit him up. He is a member here.
