Well, the OEM vs AM cylinder kit thread has been a very interesting conversation. I stumbled upon these when looking up a part for a friend's saw last night. I'm sure many of you are aware of these but I wasn't till now and frankly find the idea of a brand new 100% AM saw in a box for 160 bucks kind of intriguing. From what I can see in the pics every part is included to build a complete powerhead from scratch. I might have to get one of these at some point just for the fun and experience of it. The 372 is the only Husky clone kit they offer, but they have several Stihl models.

Thoughts?

Lol, guilty..I missed it. So those guys are putting together a little competition building box saws like the one I linked?? That should be interesting!

In all seriousness, I may actually buy one of those box-o-372 clones at some point, throw it together as-is and see how it runs. If I don't like it I can always flip it locally. Just seems like something fun to piece together and experiment with. Gotta finish my 394 build first.

What do the black id tags on the front of the clones say? I'm just curious.

Those are good looking saws. It's kinda funny the way they misspelled husqvarna trying to make them look the same

Idk why but it was obviously misspelled on purpose who knows how many manufacturers make these in china maybe even there this tells them apart it was supposed to say tai lin on the pics when i bought them from aliexpress but maybe the seller sources them from all over china i might buy one maybe two more i will post pics it took 11 days to get mine.
They are fun to mess around with lol20170220_124034.jpg

It looks like they used the same tag on all the saws. they wanted as close a copy as possible. I guess the customs folks aren't worried about it being a copy. But, then again all the patents have probably run out. It looks like they did a good job copying them. I would be interested in a MS200T clone.

All the plants would have to be tied together somehow. I wonder if the quality varies from factory to factory. For the price you can't loose that much by getting one.

I spoke a bit with mattward74 an aussie on youtube if you're familiar with him he has great vids he has been modding the 372 china saws for years he likes them i guess many guys use them there because of cost oem is staggering there and they have held up great he didn't like the 380 clone he gave it away.
A couple of more Australians are using them too with great results these saws are cake to work on anyway and parts are sooo cheap lol

Not much feedback on other clones i guess they are somewhat new to everyone the 200t just came out.
Several guys told me they like and use the 272 clones but i haven't found a source for one yet.

I've never seen his videos. I've used a lot of Chinese parts with pretty good luck. I don't see how the clones would be any different than the parts. I wasn't aware of the 380 clone or the 272.

They are new to me the complete china saws are but i used literally hundreds of china part's over the years im not a aliexpress rep lol
Here's the clones i can remember that's out there. 200t 170 180 250 290 360 361 380 381 440 660 070 stihls 268 272 365 372 huskys im sure i missed some alibaba is frustrating because not all the company's ship to the us and you contact them for a quote and wait for days for them to respond aliexpress is much easier but they only have some of the clones.
