I have a big ol stihl 056 super. It is fun to buck with. Every other aspect is like wrestling with a bear cub. Lol I recently acquired a 395 xp as a basket case. Still trying to decide if it is worth all the missing parts.

I have had an 056 Mag 2, have a 125 Mac, have an 090... 394/5 is always worth building. Modern enough parts are available, plenty of oil for a 42" bar, and power to spare.

Is it stock?
A stock 390 is not going to run with a stock 661,a ported 390 won't run with a ported 661 either.

Send it before I send the 661 back.
I'll run them with the same bar and chain In the same wood.
Are you dun playin with that silly saw already?

That's fine for pine, but a 42" oak will make you wish you hade the 395 back. Lol

Looks like you had a good time though, cool pics and video

You have a valid point. Seldom do I ever get into oak/other hardwoods. That is something that the OP should take into consideration.

Thank you, this year was one of the best yet for harvesting firewood. That one tree was 4 cords of wood. I really needed it as I burned through my whole stash last year.
