I have had an 056 Mag 2, have a 125 Mac, have an 090... 394/5 is always worth building. Modern enough parts are available, plenty of oil for a 42" bar, and power to spare.

This can be a serious comparison if and when a 590xp ever comes out.
It would be fun to watch a stock 390 go head to head against a stock 661.

A stock 390 is not going to run with a stock 661,a ported 390 won't run with a ported 661 either.

You have a valid point. Seldom do I ever get into oak/other hardwoods. That is something that the OP should take into consideration.

Thank you, this year was one of the best yet for harvesting firewood. That one tree was 4 cords of wood. I really needed it as I burned through my whole stash last year.

They are getting ready to cut two ash trees at work and i get the wood out of them. Should be a good opportunity to get some tanks threw the 385. Sorry 046 going to have to sit this one out.....
