Hey Don, maybe a new ported 2260 would work?!

If you would like the 562 done, just drop it off and I'll do it for free; in the interest of research and science and stuffs.
Damn that's generous! :applaudit:

Kind of wish I gave the 562 a trip to Missouri.... I mean I did gain an 064 so it was not to bad.

I do have a 359 or a 357 that needs a crank and port work..... maybe I better get on that?

Now the ball is rolling

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

This thread fascinates me. I now have three more 60 cc class saws that I can go to. It all started when I upgraded my Stihl 034 AV to an 036. It weighs less than a Stihl 390 and outcuts it. In fact, it stays even with my Stihl MS 361 that has been my go to saw for years.

But then something else happened. A neighbor gave me a non-working vintage Husky 61 that was collecting dust in his garage. Compression was low so I replaced the top end and tuned it up. Dang thing cuts even with my MS 361, always starts, and idles perfectly.

I was celebrating that at the local pub when another friend went out to his truck and brought back in a Poulan 4000 that he wanted me to keep. It was made way back when Poulan made professional saws. After a little restoration work and a tune up, it runs like gangbusters. Now I don't have a favorite firewood saw for large logs. I have four of them. Here's the vintage Poulan 4000:
