Anyone else get a phishing text from PayPal?

I just received a text from 701-354-2304 indicating my PayPay account had failed a manual fraud review and I should log into a website they provided to clear the matter up. It was bogus of course and I am not aware of any PayPal office in North Dakota where this number is from and the website provided is a redirect. First time I have been subject to a text scam.

I believe that PayPal will address you buy name when they contact you. We have received fraud emails and contacted PayPal directly and this is what they have to us. They also ask us to forward them the emails when we get them.

Never a text but I get an assload of fraud emails from paypal.

I recieved a notification (not from the state) that the online hunting and fishing application information has been hacked and that I'm one of the victims. It gives a 1-8 something number to a special investigator to check my bank account to make sure everything is ok and restore any fraudulent withdrawals. I've never purchased a fishing license online nor do I think you can in this state.
There's only been one time I've given my full name and address since I've lived at this address and it was for the registration a few weeks ago for that field testing equipment.

Paypal itself doesn't send out fraud emails necessarily- they send out "account alerts." If there's an address link in an email you receive claiming to be from Paypal, hover your cursor over it to make sure it begins with: "https://www.paypal.com" or "https://paypal.com" with no other garbage between Paypal and com. You'll see fake addresses like https://www.oodog.paypal.businessservices.org which was a Russian hacker site for a while. Because the address has the word Paypal in it, people automatically assume that it is legit.

Online scamming is a huge business- it's estimated that for every 1,000 people that don't fall for it, one does, to the average tune of $4,000.
