Ive seen very few cylinders Ive been into yet that couldnt benefit from casting flaws removed and ports squared a bit to improve flow?
Ummm. I see your point. Personally I would say if your removing mostly casting flash then that wouldn't be port changing. The factory "Should" have removed the flash before supply to give the designed shape and clean line . If you change the shape of the ports as well then that would fall into "porting modifications" in my mind but then I feel there are many levels of "Porting".

I agree and If I delete a gasket or have the squish cut I almost always change timing alil and square/clean the ports up

Beautiful family there Keith, a lucky man!

044#1 is just "modified", no porting, but I did delete the gasket (thanks to your advice) and advance the timing (20/1000). I wish you lived closer, I would love to get your take on running it. I've put the 28" light bar on it with RSL, it makes for a nice light weight package. That saw likes to be tuned at 15,000, or it just feels too fat. I think they just did this one right from the factory.

It does not have the torque of my ported 77 cc saws, but if you let it stay in it's RPM range, it will cut right with them, and is faster than my other 70 cc saws, which both run great.

Thanks Mike!! Ya I love the way a 28 es light balances on a 44/46! Seems to float
