I know of one outfit gearing up to make 268/272 fullwraps
I asked for 288 or pro safety diameter size
Version's but it's hard to change from original pattern he said.
Oem size is fine I just prefer the larger wraps
I'll post when they are available.
They changed their mind
They're not going to make them.
Because of the different brake flags
For the full wraps.
They don't want have to offer those as well
Too expensive to produce wraps and flags.
None of my fullwrap saws have the proper flag.

Subscribed and waiting for the 2xx series clones.
You're turnIMG_20210303_123657.jpg
I've got enough 2 series and 3 series saws to last me a lifetime.IMG_20210309_131141.jpgIMG_20210309_102759.jpg
And I found more builders in the shop
A tote with a tomos 266se metal tank
a 268xp
And 2 272xp's20190903_165632.jpg

Speaking of china parts in the 2 series
I've used
The hyway 268 popup in this 266xp
Is a strong saw
I've cut a lot with it.
The 1.00 fuel lines/tubes unlike the 365/372 coiled line
Have held up good no issue's.
And I bought 20 china tillotson carb kits
For like 1.25 per kit
No issue's with them.

Didn't buy one I have plenty of 66cc/72cc saws
I have 8 or 12 more 266/268/272
Builder's/parts saws to finish
upload_2021-3-14_7-25-17.png
I'm going to finish them out
With china parts
Topcovers,clutches,coils,half wraps
Carb kits,fasteners etc.
I'm set for life on saws.

I put this clone with a hyway bb popup
In a alaskan mill
A couple year's ago and never used it.
It was full of regular pump gas and 40/1 ra
It was in a unheated barn under roof
Is all exposed to elements
Otherwise.IMG_20210407_184833.jpg

I tried to start it and it would barely move so I tore it down.
The aluminum cases were corroded
Especially on the side that
Was laying down.
So I'm guessing the ethanol had a reaction
With the aluminum.
Or it drew moisture I don't know.
It was soft and chalky like caulk or plumber's putty
the bearing's
Are not rusted so I cleaned and flushed
The bottom end.IMG_20210408_090429.jpg
It completely freed up and the assembly rolled smoothly.IMG_20210408_110501.jpg
I ran six tanks through it yesterday
No issue's
Runs strong with the hyway kit.
I'm using efree fuel now.
None of my other saws have ever done this
I keep them in a insulated and heated shop.

I got this 74.00 china tophandle
For my elderly neighbor
He wanted one to keep his new Kawasaki mule from getting scratched by limbs.IMG_20210623_192155.jpg IMG_20210623_192550.jpgIMG_20210623_195207.jpgIMG_20210623_184304.jpgruns good
Started on the 3rd pull
Just a little tuning and it was good to go.

I had one of those and ended up giving it to my brother in law, he's used it a lot and it's held up good.
I don't have any use for it
Maybe when I'm feeble I'll put one on the atv.
My farmer neighbors went crazy for it
When I was trying it out
I showed them where to get them.
The only thing local is 300.00+ brand name saws.
They just want something cheap to put on tractor's or utvs.

I never really used it myself, just some test cuts. After my brother in law returned the last saw without cleaning it and the chain so dull it would have cut just as well if it was on backwards, I decided to give him that one and after a year and it's still going strong.

Old post, but you do know that 288/395 flags are the correct plastic flags for full wrap 266/272 class saws, right?

Yes
But he didn't want to reproduce them
And Oem flags wouldn't be plentiful
Enough to
Cover new wraps if he had them made
I tried to convince him
It wouldn't matter
Enthusiast would come up with something.
But he didn't want to mess with them anymore.
