Interesting that they went and copied the farmertec white and carbon fiber look. Of course if you stuck an orange top on that it would like a you-know-what. 😀

One reason they cost more than the standard clones is the use of a Walbro carb. But that's a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist, as the cheapo carbs seem to work just fine.

Either way, it's a complete free for all over there. No regulation and the component suppliers will sell their parts to anyone. The development work farmertec put into this is not protected at all. Just like the original design work that Husky and Stihl did in the beginning. 😉

I'm of the opinion i could be wrong that farmertec buy's the holzfforma saws from many different manufacturers and suppliers and
Markets them under their cheesy sticker's.
For instance they tried to scratch out the newtop casting logos on my g272 which newtop advertises walbro carb and walbro ignition coil?Screenshot_2024-03-18-08-03-14-593.jpg
And when neotec first launched their owner told us on Facebook something like farmertec wanted him to cut corners and cost on saws so they started to market their saws with the ugly plastics.
Why doesn't anyone just make a all grey or all black saw?
Neotec reminds me of the old ryobi mismatched colored saws.
Maybe the original manufacturers are seeing more profits selling under their own banner idk.

I ordered one of them today, I don't really like the carbon fiber look but for that price I can live with it.
When i first noticed these various upgraded
"Italian" piston saws they were near 500.00
Now it seems all the different companies are hovering around 200.00 with sales often and for instance holzfforma was 89.00 for the standard 372xp and xt and g272
I wonder if we'll see 49.00 saws next black friday lol

Got me a gu 288 in kit form put it all together everything seems too fit well apart from the top cover
Got it running pull cord was too short so lengthened the rope
Plenty of power tuned it in then it died the low side of the carb is ok it’ll tick over all day
Was going to try a good 281 carb I’ve got here do you all think good idea

Also it oils like hell have turned it right downView attachment 412307View attachment 412308View attachment 412309
Did it die due to an air leak or carb?

I think FT buys the components and then builds and markets the saws. And this is likely the case for the others. Unlike the OEM'S none of these companies make any of their own parts. So, anyone who wants to sell clone saws can buy whatever they need.

Only one I know of who has some inside knowledge is Walt, @weimedog, as he has actually spoken with some FT people.

I like all the goofy colors myself. The blue and the orange- gray look good. All gray or black isn't appealing at all to me. Similar to the auto industry where there's black and white with 20 shades of silver/gray in-between. The all black look is the worst, as you can barely identify a vehicle until you are right on top of it. Boring 😴

One thing we can count on is that as these companies compete with each other, prices will be dropping. I think we're already seeing some of this, aren't we? The inclusion of bars and chains is additional value. And don't forget the free work gloves! OK, I'm being silly, but let them sweeten the pot however they like.

I wish they'd copy exactly the tank/handle grip of the oem 372s it's too squarish the oem is far more comfortable
The farmac advertises a wider grip in that area
I don't understand why they don't market fullwraps for the g288s and g272s
I'm all set on oem fullwraps for my saws but that would be an added bonus for many
This may interest you bob
There's a fella looking into making chain outside adjusters built into the clutch covers on 2 series saws
He's manufactured stihl clutch covers from scratch
I told him he might have a winner with all the vintage saws still around and the kids like the tactical chain adjusters.

I hope they have a good black Friday sale. I will wait and see before I get a g395.

If it actually goes that way, then there'll be a re-set in the way these saws are viewed. The power heads will no longer be seen as an investment that is measured in years of service. Not necessarily "throw aways", but consumables similar to bars and chains. Realiability is still important, as no one will want to tolerate a fussy saw on the job. But longevity won't be as significant.

Did it die due to an air leak or carb?

It dies once warm there definitely isn’t enough fuel
The problem seems to be on the high side
From cold it will open up only if the H jet is at least 2.5 turns out
Then once the saw Is hot no jet adjustment will keep it go8ng
gonna try the genuine 281 carb which I know is running good
