The base gasket removal blew my mind. Ok, an increase in torque from the increase in compression, but everything is now occurring at a higher RPM.

The exhaust port is lower, so that shouldn't increase the RPM. Likewise, the transfers are lower so the powerband should have moved slightly lower, what gives? - Ah ha!, I'll bet the intake on that model of saw could use a bit more intake timing.

On a different note, if anyone is good at excel, or Google and could find a template I could input numbers into. I would greatly appreciate that.

Or even a video etc.

Thank you

Off to run some saws.

If you have excel I can help you out. I can teach you how to plot or even make a sheet that can automatically plot some files against each other.

I presume the BGD is the higher #???

I did that to my 10 mm 044 and noticed a similar increase. My thoughts on why:

1) Improved squish and compression.

2) The lower Ex (numerically higher) provides a slightly longer effective power stroke (distance from TDC to the Ex).

3) Ex and Transfers move approx. the same, so about the same BD.

4) Lower intake on a stock cylinder will almost always increase power.

Easy enough to test, make a run with a two-port muffler and then make a run with the three-port.

No subjective 'feel' in the wood, no subjective sounds from the muffler - all there is is the dyno results.
Correct, the dyno doesnt care what things feel like, it will only provide facts. God I love science.

What were the results for the ported 8000? I seem to remember being disappointed when I ran a bone stock one a few years ago. At least compared to my 064 or 7900 it felt lacking. But feel is subjective right? :)

It was healthy. I forgot to video the reading. I'll get it later.
