I don’t think it will hurt oem sales. Look at the blue 660 kits. A good shape used oem saw will be worth more new blue kit saw. IMHO

What length bars are you running, I must of rang about 30 dealers looking for a 30-32 light weight bar, none to be got, they can't even be ordered, frustrating as I have a saw I really looking forward to running

What was the black piece that has broken off under the top cover? It's on the wall to the carb box, on the flywheel side.

Has anyone tried the 288xp from Brazil? How is the quality compared to the old made in Sweden models?

I finally got around to something I've been meaning to do for months! My 181 never came with the dog spring for the long bars and I've had an extra spring from one of the 7+ 181/281/288's that have cycled through, so I finally combined the two. I also swapped in an original black fuel cap I recently acquired as well. I think I need to do the 394 insert trick on the two pto side wrap bolts, though. Lastly, I'll need to check with a buddy first, but would anyone be interested in trading clutch covers? Mine has a functional metal-flag chain brake, but the wrap hits the knob adjuster bit. If my buddy doesn't have anything, if anyone here has a similar-condition plastic-flagged clutch cover I'd be interested in swapping since I really don't want to gut a cover with a functioning brake. Oh yeah, HOORAY 181!!!

I wouldn’t let that clutch cover out of sight. Like trying to find hens teeth.
