Also, I could use a trigger to correspond with it, among other things...

Well I just bought a MS440 Mag like a month ago, and with thinking of rebuilding it along with the thought of doing a 440/460 hybrid I am probably going to pass on this. I’ll sell my 550 Mk2 to fund something in the 90cc class
You realize a 288 is 88cc, right? That’s roughly the displacement of a Husky 390.

Yes lol. But for some unknown reason I am dead set on the 066/660. Even though that 288 is probably a great saw I’ve bought something before “settling” instead of getting what I originally wanted and regretted. Thanks man. If it’s still there later down the road I may reconsider it.

I'm putting together a 288 delivered in a box. I've never dealt with one and relying on sketchy exploded parts lists for research. Not having the pigtail fuel line in hand, I'm having a hard time believing it will big enough to seal the hole in the tank (left pic) and small enough to fit through the grommet on the carb floor. None of the poor parts lists that I can find shows a grommet for the tank. Am I missing something or does the oem fuel line takes care of things as they are?

The 288 fuel line has the grommet molded in.

Thanks. The crappy IPL I was using gave the "updated" part # for the pigtail without mentioning the separate grommet.

Ive been wanting a 281xp or 288xp for a while now and finally found one a few months back. Pretty happy and got it cheap, runs no problem and is in with the local Husqvarna dealer at the moment for some clearly needed work.

Heres a couple pictures when I got it home prior to clean up and going into the shop, big unit compared to the 550xp.
