I like how the newer walbro runs on a 288 (pretty sure it’s a wj117). No governor either. I agree with Matt sometimes you just have to try a new or known good carb to find out if it was the problem. Usually idle problems are the carb or ignition coil if it doesn’t have an airleak.

What are we looking for? I don't see any big brass plug on the PTO side of carb.

So Big Johns saw got another carb or a piece of tin in the carb?
Got the new carb on today Adam. Started pretty easy and sounded pretty close for the tune. Neighbors seemed pretty happy to hear it run. Thanks to @PA Dan and @Fruecrue for helping me out. Got a few decent sized oaks to knock down when Dan and can match schedules. More info to follow

Maybe sooner than that brother! I'll talk to Steve about setting up the Cherry and walnut to mill. Might head over there one evening later this week.

If it runs good and it's all OEM, I'd say that's a fair price but I'd offer them $400 and go from there.

Well I just bought a MS440 Mag like a month ago, and with thinking of rebuilding it along with the thought of doing a 440/460 hybrid I am probably going to pass on this. I’ll sell my 550 Mk2 to fund something in the 90cc class

If its been rebuilt.. new bearings rubber carb lines...complete and I mean complete....then in current cosmetic shape its worth the 500. Whether it runs good or not id personally still expect to be splitting it and use that as your guide to what u r gonna pay.
