For power to weight, I'll take the Hybrid … and I did not see any 461s competing against us up in NY. They are welcome to though.

I've never felt the need to replace a ported 460 with a ported 461. I think they both make strong runners.
Send me your 460 and I’ll test against this one. Would be interesting to see.

Bring it to CT or NY. You know I'm always game!

Was running my ported Asian 660 today to noodle some large Sugar Maple rounds. It is the one that I went into after speaking with MD Lee and added some of his ideas … that saw is a beast! Thank you Mike!!!

So I cut down a few 18” or so ash with the 2159, just doesn’t seem to have the power I prefer for felling vs the 2165. One would think a half a hp wouldn’t make all that much difference but it sure does. Just as the newer 572 is a little more than the 372 from what I gather from most of the reviews.
As you can see from my little bit of research, the stihl saws make marginally more hp in the same class, slightly lighter but with a much higher price tag.

The paper specs are incorrect IMO. A 362 and 562 are not in the same league in the wood pile.

Specs can help us to get an idea of how a saw will perform, but they aren't always accurate, from a numbers standpoint or from a real world standpoint. Testing in your particular conditions/with you operating the equipment is the best way I've found.
Also, a 2171 and 372 are the same saw. Not sure why your weights differ.
372 is the XT, he needs to ad XT to it.
Also missing are the 357 and the 372 XPW, and I'm not sure why the 500i is in there without the 7900/7910, but that's pretty normal when looking at specs, you only get part of the story.

I sure don’t read a spec sheet while I’m cutting a tree down. How the saw feels to YOU matters in the end. It’s your $.
The bummer is most guys don't get a chance to compare very many saws, if they did I think they would be very surprise. Just as many of your videos show, sometimes the underdog comes out in front, but you know you just made it look that way and the other saws must have had dull chains o_O. When I compare saws I like to run the same chain, then I run the talked up saw first and the underdog last, 346/550 and xp/xt are to great examples, still people don't want to believe for whatever the reason.

When I was in construction, had all Makita tools. They’re quality become homeowner so I never buy Makita, now I know you’ll say that it’s a Dolmar but the only place around here that sells them is HD.
I don’t care for Husky right now after them closing down Jonsered.
Had GM trucks all my life but they closed the plant in my canadian hometown so I now have a brand new Ford. I get a little spurned that way, wife says to let it go but I can’t

I remember when I got my first 261cmvr2, I thought I'd be selling all my 50cc huskys, great saw; but it's just another modern day 50cc saw, I prefer the handling of the 550m1. I sold that saw 2 weeks after getting it and the huskys stayed lol. Oh and for the it must not have been broke in crowd, it was broke in.

Peak specs are just that. They are worthless without another spec at 1000 RPM higher and lower. With six or eight of those numbers at different RPM ranges you could begin to plot a chart and that would be much more accurate as to what you actually felt

I would have really liked a 572 in a red dress but that will never happen

Just paint it! Lol.

You must like the maths.

That's why I've been a proponent of getting a hp graph for my saws before I buy them lol.

That still wouldn't help.
You'd also need average production unit power spread, average power change after certain run-in time, cutting performance data... basically it's better not to get there. Ever. Because you are never done even knowing fuel temperatures or clutch slippage levels :D
