I made time to take the 572 back to the dealer yesterday after work. His mechanic was just leaving so we didn't have a chance to hook it up the the computer but we made a few test cuts with it and it stalled and hunted for tune and generally ran poorly like it had done for me earlier. He swapped fuels again and it actually seemed to get worse on his fuel. He ended up just swapping me saws with a known good running one. I will give an update once I get a few happy tanks through it.

They got 6 572's in on the first order. As of last night, 1 was fueled and ran as a demo saw and ran great (this is the saw I test ran Tuesday and I ended up with Friday). I bought the first one he sold and it was a dud. The second one he sold came back already too. That one apparently had an idle issue which turned out to be an issue with the throttle plate not closing or seating correctly every time. Saw number 4 was pulled out and fueled yesterday and seemed to run fine too.

I realize this is probably the exception, not the rule, but I stand firm in my belief that husky's QC department needs an overhaul. I'm about one glitch away from saying Huck Fusqvarna for anything other than a 3 series.

This sucks to hear but I know I appreciate you sharing what’s going on.

When you first got your 572 did you perform the initial setup procedure? A friend of mine who is a Husqvarna dealer said on the first run you have to work it HARD for 5 minutes to set the fuel curve, bury the bar and dog it through cut after cut. Just curious, interested to hear what’s going on with your saw.

I don't believe that has been required since the 576, but don't hold me to that.

I won’t hold you to that as long as you don’t hold my feet to a fire lol! I know jack sh*t about AT saws, just something that came up in conversation with my buddy whom I trust implicitly with regard to them.

[emoji106] I know the 576 you had to do that, or else they would act goofy for a while, it was the first generation of the technology and was somewhat slow to adjust. That said I honestly preferred the way the 576 system acted over the 562 or 550. The 576 was actually the best 5 series husky if you ask me, it was just big, bulky and ugly lol.

There is always a statistical chance a saw is a lemon. So many variables from the manufacturing through the saw's actual use history. Having a dealer swap the saw is the best answer..then if the problem happens again its probably not the saw. First two days of feed back here has been all positive. Might add mine to the fray, just have a bunch of project saws to work through first.

:) Just a saw! Nothing to hate about, ( I don't think so at least!) but have to say experiences shared is good data, both good and bad. Dealer response along with the manufacturer's response is all good. But also the user's responses add to the collective experiences...:) I have a guy who every year comes by and slams his saw on the bench calling it a POS......and I dump the gas into a glass jar...point to all the "worms" (water) at the bottom after he's finished bellowing about the fresh gas he runs. I charge him $50 to clear things out hoping that's too much and I don't have to see him next year. So far three years. He's about due...:) Can't imagine how I sound to his face book followers.

Are these new saws running a Zama? If so isn't that really Stihls lack of quality control on the throttle.plate not closing properly since they own Zama?
It is a zama carb. I didn't post my experience to start a brand war. I just figured it may help some folks make a decision wether or not to plunge into one of these.
