With the price tag on the 462 they will be on that shelf a long while before I pay it.

The dealer I bought the 572 from sells stihl and husky. At his normal selling price (not msrp) the 462 is $50 more than the 572

So your dealer is either charging way too much for the 572, or way too little for the 462.

I think your dealer is a abnormality rather then the norm. If I get to my dealer tomorrow I will check on 572 pricing for me, just curious now.

That's one thing about John Deere they are proud of their parts! I needed a pin for my skidder. $190! Like you said tough to leave the dealer for under $500.
