Just remember the 562 has had problems with the bearings, maybe they have it figured out, but the 262 has proven to stand the test of time, in my opinion, muffler mod it and throw a new Caber on it and run it. If you need help with the muffler pm me, I will happily do it for free, and the ring as well.

Do you own any 5 series saws Tor? Sounds like you really like your 262s.
I:ve used JReds version of 550xpg since 12, this year I build up 1×545G and 2×550XPG.
I like those 5xx because they are very slim and their AV is supreme.
Except 550 and 262, my other favourite is 242xpg, its slim but also short, doing lots of limbing work I dont have anything close to a healthy 242.

I'll take a 562 over 262 any day. 262 might outlast it but it was boring to use.
I got an old logger friend, Aanund is his name, he has been pro for 40 years, mostly 60cc saws.
He has gone through the loop with 254/266 -> 262 -> 357/362 -> 560.
He was a huge fan of 262 and was dissapointed with those 3xx saws, first with 560 he felt Husky had build a real saw again.
His first 560 was a disaster, other then his first 560 all the other ones has lasted through waranty time.

I do know that those 560 isnt just a sunshine story, some people are either unlucky, or they blast them anyway.

If You Are looking to purchase a 562 and are thinking about getting a saw ported You can buy them Directly from Alan Wolthuis aka @awol ported for $850 pho or $900 with a 20 inch bar and chain shipped. I highly recommend getting one they are very reliable saws with a Good man standing behind the products he sells.

That's good to know. Thanks for all the valuable information everyone. Except monkey head of course. Chime in Randy, chime in! You must have SOMETHING positive to add to this conversation. Tor r is mentioning 560s are they a scandenavian version of the 562 or some thing?

560 is a small mount version over there. The 2260 is the only one we can get over here with the crank stuffers.

Not exactly, 562 is large mount with the high rise air filter, 560 is small mount with low rise air filter. 560 is not available in the states. :BangHead:. The Jonsered 2260 is the same thing however and is available in the U.S. :aplastao:

Thanks for the info. Not really interested in a 357 at this time, maybe in the future. Think I'm gettin my sights set on a 562xpg.:aplastao:. Guess I need to add another $100.00 or so to that price from Alan, correct Chris? Heated handles you know. They gotta cost something.

Not trying to sell you on the 357 - just surprised it can't hang with the 262
