Same carb,different jug. '90 has a non decomp Mahle.

90 should have the KS cylinder and the HDA87 carb. 94 should be Mahle cylinder and HDA120 carb.

The early 262 SHOULD have had the KS non decomp cylinder (which is 100% pre EPA and is generally regarded as having better timing numbers/more power) and the HDA87 carb which has a larger venturi than the later models.

Interesting, every 262 I have seen pre 1993 all had KS cylinders, you must have one of the very first Mahle jugs.

Knock on Landmark's door, he loves 262's. When I was building one for my son, used his coke can gasket method and opened up muffler. Ran great. Search 2 series saw.

Mine was bought in PA not Canadian. I don't know if that matters. It's all original, it's never been apart so I don't what kind of piston it's sporting.
So what is it you like better about the 562 Keith?

Do you own any 5 series saws Tor? Sounds like you really like your 262s.

Owned both. Had both ported and mm'd. I have posted tbe vids of both saws in same wood. 562 was slightly faster and a ton smoother. I prefer the look and ease of working on the 262. I ended up selling the 562. The 262 is still my go to saw. Since you already have a 262 either have it ported and really enjoy or purchase 562 and just do a MM. It's a win win situation.
