Just order two new ones easy peasy should just be a simple few bucks and couple of minutes to install:facepalm:. You should talk to the your HL friend and get a batch of these made up, it seems more than a few are not installed correct, have damage or are broken....why not they are small & cheap to ship.

Is this a known issue on 2013 saws? Are there other issues? I'm in the market for a 50cc electronic saw and trying to research.
Thanks

You're doing better than me, 0 for 3 so far, all were new. This one is # 4. I haven't dared fuel or run it yet and may trade it for the revised MS261 when it becomes available. The 1st one was an early 2014 and after eight trips to two different dealers & 3 or 4 tanks of bog & stalling I took the haircut and traded for a 562XP which has been fantastic. Last September I got the urge to try again and picked up a week 16 2015. Ran almost a tank through it with the same symptoms. Dealer gave me a week 3 2015 replacement saw the next morning which did the same thing (0 for 3). This time he wouldn't do the replacement thing & wanted to figure it out. 6 trips later I'd had enough & asked for the saw back as is. I planned to go to a 3rd dealer & involve the regional rep if necessary. Upon learning this he offered me a 2nd replacement saw which of course I accepted. I have been following several threads on the bog & stalling issue with the 550XP but haven't seen a resolution posted yet. May have just missed it. Could this be the problem? I did try the hidden air bypass screw behind the welch plug. It didn't have any effect on saw #3.

You have a lot more patience than me it would have cost me too much time and money going to and from my dealer for a saw much less the trouble you had .

This is some great info on a very popular saw. It would stand to reason that checking transfer cover seals on any husky made in the troubled Era could stand to be inspected. I used 3-bond 1194 on my 372XT when I put it back together just for insurance. The seals looked fine.

Husqvarna does not sell these seals.........

Shameful in my humble opinion.

I was just about to say that I have seen a thread on this very topic on another saw forum awhile back and that Husky does not sell those seals....

Anyone contacting Husky to give feedback that so many of these are faulty?? This alone should be reason enough to make the seals available... Or maybe a service bulletin with the good side-effect of them making the seals available??

Makes me wonder, how the heck do they screw up seating an o-ring type seal into it's groove???

I'll give you another weird tidbit.

I've never seen a bad transfer seal on a Jonsered.

That makes no sense. Kinda makes me want to trade in for black n red. Of course I won't, it's disappointing is all.

Can about garantee it's an assembler doing things bass ackwards for speed. Instead of seating the seal in the cover properly I bet they're laying the seal on the cylinder, putting the cover over it then tightening the screws. It's the only possible way I can see the seal getting cut on installation.

I've used Motoseal.......and Loctite 518.
I used the 518 on mine today. Dropped gasket and cut squish for .020. 105/115/75 is where I ended up and added alil strato duration on the piston window20160303_113139.jpg
The Klotz Super @ 40to1 looked good in the bottomend when I tore her downScreenshot_2016-03-03-11-48-24.png

It is a well known issue on them up to 2015.....

If I had one that was made before 2015, I'd tear it down to check the seals, and the intake before I started it.
I have a 555 that has the bog hesitation off idle and the dealer said they found nothing wrong but they never had the software to test it out on at the time . Could the 555 also be included for having bad orings also?

So this transfer seal issue doesn't include the 562s?

I've seen the same issue on a few 562s, but not nearly as often.

On that saw I've seen the base gasket folded over on itself, and the carb not installed on the boot right more often.

Bad transfer seals don't usually make it run poorly. The AT system allows for the leak pretty well.

Randy, you're not supposed to fix those seals. Husky has them coded as "non-serviceable". You're just supposed to let the saw blow up. :applaudit:

I brought this up at the recent Jonsered tech meeting. I had just re-sealed the covers on a 2172 the day before. Told them we should be able to order those parts; o-ring, covers and screws. So, here's the answer I got: Nope, they are non-serviceable and are not going to be available. Just file a warranty and we'll replace the top end.

Not too happy with that answer, I said "So what am I gonna tell the guy whose saw is out of warranty?" Long pause. Then he says, " Yes, we hear you and we're trying to get that changed." So, this should get better at some point.
