Good morning.

Jug done. Onto the mufkin after the day job.

The exhaust port has some plating and a Husky-Esq groove outside the port window. The port is quite thin, unlike the older jugs. I left it alone.

I widened the exhaust to 32.5mm, which is 65% of bore.

I use paraffin wax and a lube for cutting the uppers.

Is plating holding up to the alumahawg?

Yes, remarkably well. The factory plating doesn’t flake off like the AM stuff. It’s quite adherent.

The toughest plating I’ve ever personally came across is, by far, Meteor AM plating. It’s tougher than anything I’ve ever ground on.

Good to hear. Been concerned that Stihl may lower the quality of their plating like it appears the competition has.

Snow dampered my time and will damper finding a suitable test log.

Finished the jug, timing advanced. Did a little mod on the air inlet, it seemed choked down.

Hoping to get some cut vidja’s next weekend.

The muffler plan has not been finalized. I prefer a side outlet at the rear of the can. Good flow and noise canceling in that location.
