Wonder if his 400.1 is broken in vs the 400.

On the dyno, the 400.1 looked better. Looking forward to see Joe’s results on the ported 400.1

Same here. I don't think there's quite as much left on the table on these newer saws. Not saying they can't be improved though... Gotta say I love the look/styling of the .1

Video states mm and timing advanced, minimum required mods for any saw. They should all be ported..

I agree on the looks, neither come with screws so doubt I will try one.

The biggest one was the fastest one. The next biggest one was the 2nd fastest. The smallest one was third fastest.
Did I see that right?

Definitely not broken in, he got the new 400.1 a few days ago.
It will get noticeably better then. At least that’s been my experience with new Stihl saws. Been more than a little disappointed with some right out of the box, but they improved with use.

What kind of wood is that? The rpm it’s holding in the cut seems to be impressive.

It's soft wood something like birch but it's even more impressive in hard wood. I've been cutting beech tree for the last few weeks and saw keeps getting better. Mine has like 50 tanks now and still i have a feeling it's gaining on power

At 50 tanks pretty sure it maxed out about 35-40 tanks ago.

You must load them. Shouldn't take more than a few tanks.

These guys that have all these weird break in procedures and play sprinkles with their saws for the first how ever many tanks of gas are pissing in the wind, I start them and let them warm up for a minute or so and then load the balls off of them. After a couple tanks of gas they run as good as they ever will, only saw I ever experienced that took a little longer to get loose was a 500, why I have no idea.
