395XP how many turns on the High?

How many turns out on the high speed needle do you normally run your 395 at? Do these commonly need a larger jet after porting? Stock and ported, mine seems like it's not quite rich enough, though it doesn't bog like it's starved, it just acts like it gets hot easily. Not something I'd expect for such a big saw designed for big wood.

Usually around 1.5 turns out... no more than 2. No, they shouldn't need anything done to the carb after porting.

You could have an air leak or the carb needs new diaphragms.

Same as Shaun, and depending on the carburetor sometimes not out even that far. Never seen a 395 that needed a bigger jet. 1/2 turn too far out and they will usually only turn 10 K
