New to the forum so forgive me if this is out there somewhere. In all my searching I couldn't find the info I was looking for. I recently picked up a slightly used 462 and would like to get a 28" reduced weight bar for the added reach. Who makes the lightest 28 ? I've searched high and low and have come up with nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe the Stihl light bar is close too if not the lightest among standard production bars and really durable. I have one and love it, it is a little lighter than the Oregon version,

I bought a 461 last year and got a 28" es bar with it as I had a 20" es already figuring it would wear it most of the time. The balance with the 28" was too nose heavy for my liking. Shortly thereafter I got a 28" Stihl lightweight and that's what it wears 99% of the time now. Even had a couple loggers grab it up and comment on how it felt as most use a 24" tops around here. So if you have the $$$, Stihl gets my vote. It is a bit floppy for lack of a better word but otherwise a great bar.

Not sold on those dawgs yet but they're the ones from DD's store I believe. I liked the ones for the 460 better (smaller) but they didn't quite line up and would bind up the saw. I may try to modify then to fit when I have time.

Buy a set of dawgs the fit a 440/064/660 and it's variants. They all work on a 462.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll probably just go stihl since they all run about the same weight. I was leaning towards oregon because I had heard they were the lightest of the bunch but I've never seen the actual weight posted.

If price matters, the stihl will by far be the most expensive and the Tsumura the most affordable. Julian is the man to get the Tsumura from if you so decide.

Oregon reduced weights are more expensive than stihl light bars.

At least for me they are.

28" sugi 28" lite 050 91dl version 3lb 3.5oz

28" stihl lite 050 - 2lbs 13.5 oz
28" sithl lite 063 - 2lbs 11.5oz
28" tsumura lite 050 - 2lbs 13.5oz
28" tsumura lite 063 - 2lbs 15oz
28" oregon reduced weight 063 - 2lbs 13.5oz

so they all about the same except sugi.

The tsumura 063 weighs more than the 063 stihl because stihl uses the same thickness of bar for 050 or 063. While tsumura makes the 063 bars thicker.

note tsumura changed designs so their wegiths changed. Maybe sugi did but I haven't heard anything about it. stihl didn't. Like to know what a cannon 28" lite weighs!

Can u answer this?
