I ordered the piston, it should be here this upcoming Wednesday and ill start tearing it down for machine work/ port work.

So far its real promising. Im curious to see how it stacks up with a stock 254

The corners were rounded off on the pulley so I took a grinder and made those edges straight, came out pretty decent. Itll get a saw started I suppose

It ran.. briefly… it acted like it was sucking air. The transfer tunnels I ground on had a hairline crack and sure enough it opened up into a giant hole… so i filled it and am not in the process of spinning the flywheel on the lathe to clear the bulge.. bonehead move.

While it was apart, I did some mild port work, I widened the ex and in and tried to fix the shape of the lowers. They were all sorts of wonky to say the least

Top of the piston was machined down flat, it curved up to .010” towards the combustion chamber then tapered off to .0245” down at the edge of the band closest to the cylinder wall.

Stock ex width in the middle, widened are the out side marks of course. Did not do anything in terms of tweaking port timing/ duration. Just added more area.
