I ended up getting a Hyway 45mm 346 style cylinder to machine/port for this build.. I thought maybe the 346 cylinder would be better than the 353 because of the more efficient/ better all-round transfer design.
Granted, There are guys who can make the 353s run like hell, but the way the transfers are aimed and all that, Its going to be way easier when it comes to grinding.

I also had the grind away a good chunk of the 346 transfers to stop the flywheel from catching. Its close, but it clears.

A .080” aluminum spacer with 1 .035” gasket and a .060” gasket where used to get .024 squish. Plenty safe.
Oh and I used the belt sander to sand half the crown off too… so… theres that…😬. It worked, i had only .001” of wiggle room in squish from the pto side of the pin to the FW side, same thing with the in/ex side of the crown.

I mean shoot, if it works it works I guess haha. I don’t have any special piston holders or anything like that for the lathe so I made do with what I got

First start up with a 346 cylinder. Very very snappy throttle response. Could be the windowed piston combined with the tighter ports/ stock carb and smaller flywheel. Idk🤷🏻‍♂️.

And some test cuts to go along with it.. definitely feels better than the 353 top right off the bat...
Although, the kill wire was shorting on the chassis halfway through out the video so it was flooding itself..

I think there is some potential to make it reaall snotty.

I have the parts on order and they will be here hopefully this upcoming Wednesday..

I came up with a plan for portwork and numbers,
Ex: 103
Tr: 121
In: 78 or 80
Considering the piston skirt widths limit how far I can go as far as port widths, I might as well add a little more time but not over the top..
Whats your guys thoughts?

This is cool!
103 is a pretty high exhaust for a ported 346, but who knows in a hybrid?
Thank ya! Yeah its a little on the high side, i moght stick in the 105-106 ish range. I miigghht leave it at 105 and see if I want to raise it. With the +2mm stroke it comes in at 54cc.
