Milwaukee is opposite end of the state, so lots in between.
There's the maritime museum in Manitowoc.
Heritage Hill state park by Green Bay. Just a few things off the top of my head.
Appleton airport would put you down closer, over by @farminkarman
CWA Mosinee puts you just over an hour drive south of Steve's.

Surely there's a bunch of things in between maybe some more members can chime in and help with that.
Rhinelander is the closest airport to me to take a connecting flight from a Major airport at about thirty miles away.

Of course this being the vacationland of Wisconsin, there's plenty to find to do once you get here. The chamber of commerce is just down the hwy a couple of miles from right here.

Actually my Great Grandfather pulled a house on skids in the Winter time from Merill to Arbor Vitae, it's still there on Big Arbor Vitae Lake to this day.
