You are correct Mr. Witmah. The wood was HOD as a son of a gun. Hod NE red oak.
I just needed more bah and chain.

i think i had one dull chain but it was ran alot on the 036

Mason, I did run it in NY … remember … it was the top ported 460 w/same B+C! The saw is a Beast!

Even though I sharpened chains before the GTG, a lot of that wood was dirty, so no way to ensure it stays sharp throughout the day!

My Hyrbid chain got rocked pretty good also, I had to change it.

Your saw was fast and strong Mike, but you also had the only 7 pin of the bunch. Just another variable we gotta contend with I guess.

I have posted for years I prefer 7 pin on anything smaller than 90 cc, but everyone wants to cheat the system … 8 pin works OK till you get into a tough White Oak cant! I like to be able to lean on my saws … it is just my style.

And, FYI, that same chain was on the 460 when I ran it in the cant against your 660 belly bar.

I hear you Mike. Just calling them the way I see them. Next year, same everything. Just the saw will be different.

You really should try a nicely filed self feeding chain Mike. Makes a world of difference. Heck, you might even like it. Be safer, less wear on your equipment.
