I actually thought of jb welding it to the end of a 4x4. But I'm just gonna hit it with an angle grinder to rough it down then I'll finish it off with a rasp and flat sanding. My *b-wording about it probably took longer. Lol

This thing is giving me insomnia. Lol
I just spent most of the entire night....again. but now it's ready to fire up. I'll be doing that after I get some sleep.
The muffler is ugly as hell but it'll look right after I find one that fits better. I also don't have a set of tall 660 handlebars yet. 20161014_054247.jpg 20161014_054214.jpg 20161014_054235.jpg

Might have to modify the handlebar to make it work. I'm not sure how much more your goin to need but I doubt an oem one will work.

Are you goin to try to put plastic back on it?

Yes the plastic will be along for the ride. It almost fits as is but I still need to relieve a few edges on the top fin. I'll do that when I rebuild it for porting.

It's storming pretty hard for this area. I'll make a cut as soon as the wind dies down and gives me a moment. I don't mind the rain but it's a total triple whammy right now with that and a booming thunderstorm passing overhead.

You may have saw work or sales ahead with that storm. We have a good deal of wind now and it's still 24 hours out from the big stuff they say is coming. Already at least once big tree down and branches everywhere that I've seen here in Portland.

Here's the first two cuts. This thing is going to be getting a better carb and intake boot along with port work. I don't plan on using it for a work saw, so the port work might be a little on the less conservative side. It was a second slower in the same log than the ported 394 I have.

Jim, you running a little extra oil for break in? I noticed it smoking a little. Looked like it was burning off some break in oil.
Sounds good.

I don't run richer than the proper tune. That was a dirty muffler pulled out of a parts box that I forgot to clean out. It didn't start smoking until it got good and hot.
