It does happen, I had a cracked piston in my 066. It was an oem piston with only the windows opened a touch.

Whole skirt was bout ready to come off
I took my lightened piston out of my 64 hybrid. They may be ok but IMO they have no place in a worksaw

Bet you are right about that Keith.
I cant say for sure one way or the other but when something goes wrong like a snagged ring usually a piston wont come completely apart but having it lightened cant help IMO. They may be fine but in my mind I dont trust them and for my own peace of mind I took mine out

Bet you are right about that Keith.
That paticular video was the worst I have ever seen!! Violent mess!! Most I have seen usually catch a ring and score the mess out of the cylinder, lose compression, and just go dead

It was a bad come apart. The metallic clank at the end sucks. I've had one piston come apart starting it. Never got to full revs. It didn't sound anything like that.
