I measured the other jug with the damaged transfer.

No gasket:

103/124 to 126/73

both of the KS cylinders had progressive uppers with 2 deg between intake to exhaust side

I'm not seeing that Jason.

The transfers really seem to be the deal breaker with AM jugs if you ask me. If you really study the tunnels, you'll see why. I don't think where the upper in rotational direction to the lower is the only factor at play in charge direction.
I have no doubt that the transfers are the deal breaker.
I hope to run them today, gotta build a saw to run them on first.

At this stage, I plan to remove the muffler baffle and open up the side outlet.
It is already running a well opened up dual port front.

Will rebuild the BING carb i have and fit that up. Im not to keen on the walbro 10A on it.

Do the 064's respond to a timing advance?

I bloody thought so.
I couldn't lean it right out.

Well I am not completely insane then.

You cant say you have not seen one now!
I've seen one just not in person.

Is the flywheel dual key?

Doesn't take much for one to run good,it needs a little compression and a little more intake and a little less exhaust.

I wouldn't cut much off the base,030 or so

I have 2 x 064's here

One I was saving for the 066/288 jug but I may put it together and run it as an 064 for a while.
It has a dual keyway flywheel, unlimited coil and BING carb.
I plan a V stack and VERY open muffler

what would be optimal timing to aim for?

I should be able to make a mandrel to cut a touch from the squish and sand the base.
A bit more off the base so I can make a thin gasket for it.
.020 from squish and .030 from base should work
What timing should I am for?

I wont touch the transfers.

100/124/75?

Are they within a couple thousandths? .020" would be fair if some of them are a lot different
