Hows the saw run at 1 and 1 turns on the screws ? Whats it tuned at for rpm's ?
In the last cuts, it was at 15k. These were the first cuts, so I wanted to keep it tame.

The saw like rpm like no other I’ve built. I see what people talk about. Spins faster than an 044, less low end than an 046. A 7 pin likely woulda been a better match for the 28.

I ran this saw, and watched the tune go from the 12’s to just about 15.

This saw has nutz for a hybrid !

Most hybrids are high strung and this one doesn’t fall into that category. It was comfy while I leaned on her and happy to run up high. I don’t know how Al does it, but I’m sure it’s got something to do with his meticulous attention to details.

Great job on this saw Al !!!
Thanks, and Happy birthday Kev

Are you gonna have one of these at Dan’s spring event? :D

Runs better because of that bar. Good for 1/2 second in the cut. LOL

My hats off to Dr Al for this build. I appreciate the attention to detail and all the time spent on making it a beast of a saw. Meticulous work, indeed.
And it's a sleeper with all the stock faded plastic, etc. Not to mention all the cool pictures and videos of the build he sent along the way. I'm looking forward to getting it back and running it.
We have some big oaks coming down soon and this will be put to the test.

Thanks Al, I appreciate ya!

they do make good power for the size they are , 15 k is normal ,may even tune 15800 ,i keep mine around 14800-15200 for work with a 32 inch bar and 7 pin . The tighter case volume must be why they spool up so good.
