I mentioned this before, but nobody made a comment. Not sure why. This saw cuts wood like a bandit. Heck, maybe I'm the only one who owns one. So, from here on out it's a secret, and I'll just keep it to myself.

I checked if I am allowed to post my PS-550/55.6cc and the consensus was YES.

Can someone confirm or dispute the following:
- a A041 bar (from an old small Sachs-Dolmar) can be made to fit a Dolmar PS-550 featuring small Husky mount simply by drilling an oiler hole?

I finally got my hands on this custom made small spline 3/8"Picco sprocket and I want to run my PowerSharp setup on my PS-550 for science and fun.

I finally got my hands on this custom made small spline 3/8"Picco sprocket and I want to run my PowerSharp setup on my PS-550 for science and fun.

It looks possible . The oil hole you drill will be closer to the top of the tail rail by a small amount. The bar patterns are only slightly different to K095 as the pics show. The chain tensioner holes may need some adjustment to. Pics are of ....A041 3/8 LP and Oregon K095 .325 .

I'll just hack up an older Dolmar A041 bar and see how it turns out.
I know I will have to cut off a significant portion of the tail to fit the 7 tooth sprocket on the 52DL loop (which barely fits a 6 tooth sprocket).

I have both, a K095 & A041 bar, so I can compare and convert as needed.

Adapting the A041 to K095 bar mount is less than perfect, but it can be done.

Aside from better emissions, have two stokes torque / power improved significantly in 30 years? People are saying the new 550xp mark 2 “cuts like a 60cc”. My question is what gives? Looking at the above spec card looks like a 2016 circa dolly421.

Chain .325 stihl RS, 13" bar ( old carlton), wood aspen. saw weights 5.5kg / 12.12lbs and turns around 13,100 rpm.....
