I looked at a couple Allis's yesterday. Lord help me.

Do it! What were you looking at?

They're completely European. So not an allis at all.

Ain't nothing left of AC but the Orange and some Agco's mgt structure.

Allis Chalmers company still exists as an Energy sector services company.

True for sure. The AGCO management / engineering was what I'm referring to. The true A/C lineage died with the orange AGCO tractor line, whenever that was.

Does anyone know where I can get parts or repair on an old JD 830. There are two versions of 830 and this is the smaller version from the 70's with a three cylinder diesel. My most pressing issue is the fuel system. The injector pump (or whatever the piece on the side of the engine is called) drips diesel anytime it's running. Had a guy replace some o-rings once and it helped but it's getting bad again. I imagine I need a rebuilt pump, I imagine the dealer can get one for me, anybody got a gooder option.

A late 7010 C/A/H and a 7040. Leaning towards the 7010 because it's a poweshift and knee deep in rubber. Mostly going to be a mower tractor. Don't know how well the 301 likes the PS though. 7040 is bad ass, snap on duals, full weight rack but I really don't want a 426. Cool as they are they tend to ventilate.

Never ran the 7010 with power shift, but our 7000 with the 3 speed power director is still all original, and rock solid. If all the goodies in the cab works, it sounds like a sweet mower tractor.

Comes with a new cab kit (not installed he had the tractor painted).
7010 is a lot different than a 7000 I've heard. My main concern is getting the A/C working. I've run a 7080, that cabs no fun without chills.

Yes, the 7010 will have heavier axles and a stronger frame casting. Basically, they fixed all the weak points on the 7000. One of our neighbors has a 7000, 7010, and 7040, and an Oliver. He runs the wheels off of all 3 A/C's, and only runs the Oliver when he needs a 4th tractor.

Did they change anything in the ps tranny from those to the 8000? Always liked the 301.

We had a 7040 for a few years and it was a solid tractor. It would turn tighter than our IH1066 plus the cab was nice, but the 10 world run circles around it.

Cab's got a lot to do with it for me. I'm tired of feeding cows on an open station tractor. Plus its got the ole man staircase steps.

Don't know. You can't touch a good 8000 series around here for less than 20k. Those 301's sound like a sewing machine idleing. Easy on fuel.

Better than here. They're all trashed out. Gotta love that cab. Too bad agco is messing up the parts end.

Most of the ones I've seen came off NW Ohio rowcrop farms. Not sh!t,no silage pretty clean. They like 'em. Even 80x0 series projects with the "see thru" 426's aren't cheap.
