@Onan18 and I came up with this idea for a thread where we can all share some of the more comical things we see in our shops. Most of you guys of course take real good care of your saws. Out in the real world, maintenance of any kind is often completely ignored until a saw stops running. I've got endless material to add to this thread, but I hope everybody has a couple good ones to toss in.

Gonna open with my "air filter of the year" winner on this 562. Even wrote that on his bill. :) He works for a national tree care company and puts a lot of time on a saw. But this was really packed in. 562 air filters are only $10, Billy!

This came in after it had visited a stihl dealer that didnt fix the original problem. Hmmmmm new problem, told them take it back to them.

It came back the other day and I fixed the problem they still never fixed. But they did put a new air filter on it.

Had a 266XP come in that was apparently equipped with Husky's rare "Tri-filter" fuel system.! ;) Never saw 3 filters in a saw before. None of them connected to what was left of the fuel line.

This is a before and after on those 266's. Logger brought in his Dad's saws. "Been sitting a while". Looked a lot worse than there really were, but I bet not many of you guys would let your saws get that dirty. Both now up and running and ready to go.

Went in for work under warranty at stihl dealer where bought from. They gave it back to them without a air filter.
They ran it for a bit it appears and brought it to me having issues still.

This one just came in today.

We see plenty of "Husky vs Stihl", but this is a case of "Husky vs Caterpillar". Amazing that he only lost the tank. (And "the new ladder" also got run over. LOL)

I was told it didn't run right, but had a new cylinder. IMG_3433.JPG That is a homemade gasket crafted out of a diaper box on an 036. The new cylinder was some no name aftermarket piece. Had some deep scratch from a foreign object. They reused the original Mahle piston and it was rough (scored) looking.

    I love this thread.

To add, I love to see the way chains come in. I don't even know how they cut sometimes
