@Onan18 and I came up with this idea for a thread where we can all share some of the more comical things we see in our shops. Most of you guys of course take real good care of your saws. Out in the real world, maintenance of any kind is often completely ignored until a saw stops running. I've got endless material to add to this thread, but I hope everybody has a couple good ones to toss in.

Gonna open with my "air filter of the year" winner on this 562. Even wrote that on his bill. :) He works for a national tree care company and puts a lot of time on a saw. But this was really packed in. 562 air filters are only $10, Billy!

This came in after it had visited a stihl dealer that didnt fix the original problem. Hmmmmm new problem, told them take it back to them.

It came back the other day and I fixed the problem they still never fixed. But they did put a new air filter on it.

Local firewood cutter 440 I take care of. Pizz poor design IMO.

Also he dont keep a chain sharp or clean his air filter so it seems. This or worse every drop off.

I was told it didn't run right, but had a new cylinder.IMG_3433.JPG That is a homemade gasket crafted out of a diaper box on an 036. The new cylinder was some no name aftermarket piece. Had some deep scratch from a foreign object. They reused the original Mahle piston and it was rough (scored) looking.
