Now that I think about it, it might of actually been a little acetone that guys were adding to the dye and water soak.
I know the maxflow plastic and stihl bar scabbards won’t take the dye but I also never tried adding anything to the soak other then water and dye.

I just had a thought about the scabbards not taking dye. I bet it's because it's not glass fiber reinforced like top covers and af covers. That stuff has interesting characteristics when cutting... I bet the gf wicks the dye up. Whereas the regular plastic is like closed cell.

If you're getting a ild ideas, I can tell you your wife will be mad. And, I don't recommend plaster of Paris.

Took 4 pulls to find the solution to the corners folding. Excess material in the sheet needed to be formed around, so I added some dunnage. But, plaster ant get it done. Stuff never dries so it steams off and bubbles the plastic. Not to mention each removal scars up the buck. So I DO NOT recommend using plaster. It has been a root canal.
