Square filing 3/8lp

Looking for any tips on square filing the small cutters. Standard double bevel just seems to big for this chain.

Might try a single bevel. Never used one but they’re thinner

Single bevel is 1/2 as thick but I hear they flex a lot.

Would a triangle file with the smaller side plate work better for these?

I will try to post pics in the main thread how I am missing the inside corner due to not wanting to hit the straps and ruin the file on the 325 teeth.

I gave up on 325 w/ the double bevels. I’d always hit the straps too hard.

Or put a few loops in a small flat rate box and send to someone grind them

i used a 3 sided or square triangler what ever it’s called .seemed to work for me and I used it on semi chisel .

i just looked on my 026. & 260 saws it’s not on them, it must be in the car.

hopefully I will get a pic tomorrow. Otherwise I’ll be in the bs pile

The reason I started this thread is I found two loops of non safety pico chain in a box on my shelf. They fit the 14" setup on my 490 echo just thought it would be fun to give it a try.

It files just fine, you may have to adjust your angles. It feels weird at first, but the cutters come out fine.
