Nice build!!!! I like your engineering!! Nice clean saw!!
Thanks dude, there are a few things I am not happy with but it is getting there.. The top cover was melted to buggery and until I find a decent one somewhere I resorted to trimming the burnt stuff off in line with how the 3 series look, best of a bad situation. I want a magnesium clutch cover, but over this side of the pond they are very few and far between... It is getting there..

Just a couple of it's progress so far. Tuned in wood, not quite there. I was rushing. Plus I was only messing with a few bits in the back yard rather than the wood pile.

And then the next is with the new 20" .325.

Still tryna warrant/find funds for the magnesium clutch cover...

What year is your saw? If it doesn't say on the tag, it will be the first number of the serial number.
eg. "0" would be 1990, "1" would be 1991 etc.

....And yes a mag cover fits with removing the rear pin locator. Worked a treat on my 154se with a 254xp cover.

Well my OCD has flared up today, and I noticed you have a newer style brake flag on your saw.

I know, I know...

Is it the newer style? I thought the later flags were Mag covers? Or do you mean just the flag?

Just the flag. Original may have got damaged at some point and replaced with that one.

Might explain why it is a sloppy fit, angles down to the recoil side and is not very positive in engaging the brake. I need a Mag one for aesthetics...

Thats about $40 less than ive ever seen a new one listed for.

Found this, this is the cheapest I can find...

Pretty hefty really... I would happily re-do/paint, flat etc a 2nd hand one. I just can't find any in the UK that are DAMN mag..

It is starting to be all consuming in finding one...

Yeah thats a good price. The mag ones only came on 261's and really late 262s i think. Not tons of em around anywhere.

I am tempted, I will be selling 2 357xp's that I bought on the cheap with that crappy decomp being the issue with them. The proceeds from those will probably buy me this cover.

On another note how the hell are there import charges on an item such as a cover, I can understand on whole saws etc. But really... it's a cover.. :roto2qtemeto:
