Here are the stock numbers (with gaskets)

exhaust 101° from tdc, 158° duration

intake 74° from tdc, 146° duration

transfers 115° from tdc, 130° duration

compression is near 160 psi (the saw has no runtime)

like in every cs-engine just in factory-spec, there is a lot of room for improvement, in timings and portarea.
like we have talked, the saw is just like a bigger 550/560.
the cylinder also looks simular, just with a bigger bore.
i wonder why husky is going from 4 transfers to 2 while stihl went up from 2 to 4.
from my point, 4 tranfers are better...
waiting for a new 590, replacing the 390/395.
and expacting an update for the 572 soon in weight, like stihl was doing for 2016 with the 261.
but the most important thing is a stock comparison to the 462...think in engine performance they are pretty simular.

I believe the 462 is using a 6203 pto side and smaller 6202 flywheel side if I’m not mistaken.

I hope the 565/572 will have also the same potential in porting like 545/550/555/560/562

IMHO the size of the inlets and transform ports are huge. Especially the inlets, there isn’t much place for improvement.

I hope they offers the transfer Orings as a spare part instead of the whole assembly. Well many folks just wanted a 70cc sized 562 as the new 572xp which I think husky has given us, but with some nice upgrades here & there, like the rubber air filter/intake seal. I think husky should look seriously into making pro grade reduced weight bars to compliment their new saws. I really liked the revboost feature on my 550xp with that super fast throttle response it leaves my MS261 for dead in that department. Is revboost included in the 572 design, how is throttle response compared to the other XP 5series?

They use sealed bearings - I would prefer separate sealing rings, there it’s possible to change without a complete rebuild.
even the seals are mounted in the bearing you can swap seals seperated, just as we can on 242, 346, 385, 550, 562 and so on.
I'm happy that Husky continue to use a slim bearing style system where the seal is mounted in the bearing, its a part of making them cranks more compact, ie more slim chainsaw body.

You are right, it’s needed by build the saws more compact. Unfortunately I had only bad experiences with every single Husqvarna saw. Hopefully this new series will rebuild the repute.

It would be really cool if they offered kits to convert most of the other Husky saws to Torx screws. Kind of how the flippy caps they made can be retroactively used on most of their saws.

Looks like an over grown 550/562.

Yes... and she sings a beautiful song... I know I will have one at some point. Not when it first comes out, but later on when bugs have been worked out and such. If there are bugs... probably won't be many since they worked out a bunch on other models before releasing the 572...

Husqvarna Canada was teasing with a 572XP Valentine's Day advertisement on Facebook this morning.
Stirring up rumors it's already in the country.
