I put an old HL carb off of a Homelite ZIP on my RA, and that old saw runs great. Holds a good tune, too.

It has better H/L needles on it, with spring tensioners on the screws.
Do you have any pics of the saw Scotty?

How'd the timing and carb do on it?
Definitely woke it up some. The carb maDE it reliable and it holds a good tune now.

But, these saws don't have the same powerband as newer ones. They were primitive 2 cycles, I wish there was a way to "wake" the saw up. It'd be cool to see it scream with more RPMs......

Yeah, my ra pulls a 32 pretty darn good for its age. Might try the timing advance and carb for the hell of it.
