Anyone know anything about peep sights? I have a newer Winchester 94 that is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, is there any options that can utilize those holes?

Yep. Williams 5D-94SE or FP-94SE is what you need. The only difference between the two is the 5D lacks the micrometer click adjustments of the pricier FP. Both of them are way cheaper than a respectable scope and mounts though. Now, if it is a Big Bore in .307, .356, 0r .375 you will need the big bore version. There are several different receiver sights out there that can work, however they would require drilling and tapping. My current 94 is a top eject and wears a 5D-94/36 (fits Winchester and Marlin). I'll get an FP or Lyman 66 for it whenever I stumble across a good deal on one.

I've been fooling with rifle sights for years, gimme a holler if you need any advice or would like me to look through my little sight junkyard for you.

It's just a 30-30, newer one with the safety, was my great uncle's last gun not sure if he ever killed a deer with it, still looks like new. If ya think ya got something that'll work, let me know thanks.

I don't have any receiver sights which use the top scope mount holes. I do have a Williams FP that may fit but it would require drilling and tapping the receiver. PM me if interested.

H&R single shots are some of the greatest guns ever made, I think. I have a .410 that I received for my 12th Christmas and a shotgun frame Huntsman muzzleloader that I like very much. I hope that someday H&R comes back. Savage is currently selling a copy under the Stevens brand, sadly I think it is Chicom made. Henry is making a new line of single shots here and they look pretty sweet, I kind of want one in .44 Magnum.

At some point in the last couple of years the single shots went out of production. I can't say I miss them terribly, the Remington made examples looked just awful and cost way more than the H&R made ones did.

Very nice! Heck, I wouldn't mind carrying that through the woods during rifle season. I have always wondered why gunmakers don't want to concentrate on 20 gauge dedicated slug guns. They make stuff go dead just fine and kick much less than 12's. My father in law has killed probably 100 deer with an ancient smoothbore Remington 1100.

I’ve heard and read they are just like a rifle. Really didn’t need it my H&R shoots great.
But at half price couldn’t let it pass [emoji106]
