Don't have time to read all the posts, but I've been using some called Timber Savage one of the local shops sells. They are a bit wider than the Stihl ones, and a bit more reasonable. They have a textured finish, and I like em a lot.

. Little bit of everything in that back cut. Guess I should have been more specific, k and h are called red heads around here.

I bought a few K&H wedges about a year ago. They are nice. Very very hard. I haven't used any in cold weather, only warm. I also have cheap wedges that work well too.
For me, the wedges with the grippy things on the side that hold when you hit them into the cut work best. Lol

The yellow one that fell off the stump is a black bear rifled. I like it much, it's hard and doesn't turn in the cut once seated. Stackable also, I need to get a couple more.
Stackable is very important. Some wedges are to hard to stack. The hard heads are impossible to stack.

Naturally anything with a double taper isn't gonna stack well.

For you stackers buy some stackable wedges..how you like that infinite wisdom ?
Hey man thanks for the offer on the wedge pouch. I think I'll hold off in not falling trees daily like some of the fellas on here I can get by with my backpack. I appreciate the offer though thank you very much
