Thanks for the compliments.

I just wish things would move a little faster.

Slow and steady man, it allows you to see the items that may be overlooked and tackle the more complex things.

Fast and furious gets you siding that is out on with trim nails.....

Had to do some excavation on one side of the house before we could start on the siding...

And also started the siding on the other side of the house. Doing T-111 on the sides/back to save time & money. I’m going to be putting Hardie shingles on the front gable ends to give it a little more curb appeal.

Made some progress today... Reframed the bathroom and front bedroom window openings, filled in the framing above and below the windows in the addition, reframed the front window openings to match the actual size of the windows I bought (oops ), started on the housewrap, and installed 8 of the 11 windows. Should get the rest of the housewrap and windows in tomorrow, and start on the siding.

I like the siding. What will go on the lower edge? It looks like you are breaking it up. This place will be very nice when finished.

I saw a lot

As low as the house is compared to the neighbors, are you worried about more water issues? Really going to set off the hood.

I’m actually going to be filling the yard in quite a bit... a buddy came by today and helped me build a little retaining wall for that purpose. It also hides the weird transition where they added the foundation at two different times, and it didn’t match up at all. I had to grind quite a bit off the corner to even get the siding to lay flat.

Before...

After...

Built this retaining wall with what I could scrounge up... I think it turned out okay. I’ll add steps later.

Here’s my buddy posing...

I’m going to fill up to about 6” below the siding and it should cover the rest of the funkiness...B6FC153C-2ED1-467C-9200-8FBC6C9B9DE2.jpeg
