The driveway was a muddy mess, so I went and got a load of gravel this morning... took the 14k dump and put 6 tons in it... The 6.7 pulled it (24,980 lbs. gross weight) like a champ!

I had to use the skid steer to assist the trailer, because it was too heavy and wouldn’t dump...

My 14k dump will BARELY get 6 ton dumped. I just started getting 5 to keep it from straining so hard.

Rated for 14k, but loaded to 17k+... of course some of that is tongue weight on the truck. If the loader operator has half a brain, he will load me more towards the rear, and that makes it easier to dump. This loader operator only had 1/4 of a brain.
Mine is 14k GVWR. My trailer weighs 3,200 lbs empty. So 14,000-3,200=10,800 lbs payload. Mine is 14’. The 16’ model has less payload.
This. Except this trailer is obviously heavier than 3,200 lbs, because my truck doesn’t weigh 10,000 lbs...

Just doing random framing stuff inside the last few days. Framed in the gable end vaults above the existing walls, and the inspector didn’t like it... said I should’ve rebuilt the walls and balloon framed them, but he let me get away with it since they were existing walls.

Also got a new bath tub.

And I started getting my electrical panel together... almost every circuit has to be arc-fault now, and they are very expensive breakers!

This panel is set up to have the neutral from the breaker just snap onto the bus bar (top), instead of using the pigtails for every one (bottom)... which will make for a much cleaner (and faster) installation.

My buddy is an electrician, and he’s supposed to come get me lined out, and make sure I’m not overlooking anything important...

I had this stack of slightly burnt cedar boards I took out of the house, and I decided to clean them up and use them on the lid of the front porch.

I’m going to sand them lightly and clear coat them and see how they look... if they don’t look good I’ll flip them over and use the good (un-burnt) side of the board. They are still solid.

I love that idea and reusing the old boards. We are replacing our fence this year and I am going to take a look at some of the board and see if they can’t be repurposed for something decorative.

Cut, sanded, and clear coated... I really like how they turned out.
