The latest dye job.

Looks good! I've been juggling the idea of painting my 460 blue and leaving the white.

I did some Photoshopping once.
Started with a 461.
Turned the white to black and the orange to an aqua blue.
I thought it looked pretty slick

Blue is dark like black it might actually take. I haven't tried it. It's lighter colors im not sure about.

I did! The white tank takes a lot longer to dye than the orange did. For a while it was a bright blue color.

I was thinking the same thing, if you knew someone who was good at engraving and wood carvings get them to make you a custom top cover.

I never thought about using dyes. Heck of a idea.

But I would still need to paint the metal crankcases same colors and might be hard to match for me. This time I was going bright orange. Last time was lime green. Just trying to do something different instead of the yellow and red as they were offered.

One of my new poulan projects that is slow and on the back burner again. Just hard to get into the build when I have one of every cc already as runners.

Homemade stickers on this one too. I gave it a go and not near as nice as the ones the wife made for the lime green 505.

That's why I hesitated dying a pro grade saw. Depending on what way you go it's hard to match the paint to the plastics, plus difficult to paint a mag case period unless you know a powdercoater. Then go bananas on color schemes.

I got me some plastics that I want dyed black .............. off of a well used 066
Lets talk

If you wanna send it to me that's fine, just to let you know if it's faded it will probably be a more matte black than glossy. But that can be cool too. I did a 372 cover that way just to test it out turned out good in my opinion.
