EDITED TWICE NOW TO FIX ALL MY MISTAKES :)

Ok I will try to answer a few questions on the Angry Elf Engineering stacks.
Currently four sizes/styles all custom made.
#1 fits dang near all of the Stihls from the 026 up to the MS660 with a 2" OD.
#2 fits the MS880, 088, 084 and 3120, it also fits the 075/076 and the crazy WB carb that some of us have been playing with, it has an OD of 2.49"
#3 is for the Husqvrna 288, 281, 61, 66, 266 and some of the Pioneer models with a stock 288 elbow and has an OD of 2.25", the carb bolts are slightly offset.
#4 is for the Husky 2100 , 2101 and 298, it has an OD of 2.125"
We would be open to having other models produced based on demand.
We have all four of them with Unifilters as well as just the bare stack.
Search on Angry Elf in my store for pics (sorry no nudes).
We looked at both the K&N and unifilter when we started and went with unifilter because they are washable and oil able, and seem more suited to chainsaw abuse in milling, etc.

7 of the different models we have tested from unifilter
I will say it is nice to be able to go into any motorcycle specialty store and buy K&N, Unifilter and a bunch of different filter options, as well as oil and cleaner.

Anyone think it is possible to fit a UNI under the stock HD of cover of a Dolmar?

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

I bet this wouldn't fit too bad either

This is the same style filter my 181 eliminator had and my 288 high top has.

These filter elbows are NLA but I believe @skippy has some available. These filters are still available through the dealer as of now.

There not much room for the height. Most UNI filters are taller than 2 1/2" I think the smallest black ones I posted on page one are 2 3/4" and 3". You will also need to take into account a flange to tighten it too.

The bigger problem seems to be this tiny HD elbow IMG_3680.JPG IMG_3693.JPGIMG_3692.JPG Stock non HD elbow in the top picture. The bottom picture has the HD elbow sitting next to the non HD.

What isn't visible from the picture is how narrow the bend is on the HD elbow. The internal area on the HD is very small. Sorry for the poor photo.

I have also had a 288 and 044 vstack from Shaun.

I don't have anymore 272 HD filter elbows and I can't remember the the bolt pattern was straight across or angled.

There might be enough room. I've probably got a 288 elbow at home somewhere.

Not much room in here. So, would a 288 elbow fit and give me more height to put the stack on?

@mdavlee

The standard 288 filter neck sits at quite an angle. I measured it once and iirc it was almost an half inch from front to back.

This is how the eliminator adapter worked!eliminator adapter.jpg eliminator filter.jpg
